Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab Staff
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab is staffed by a highly specialized team of pediatric cardiovascular nurses and technologists who partner with interventional cardiologists to provide advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac care. Working collaboratively with pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiac intensivists, and other multidisciplinary specialists, the team ensures seamless, patient-centered care throughout every stage of treatment. In addition to delivering exceptional clinical care, the team is dedicated to supporting children and their families with compassion, education, and guidance throughout their journey.
The staff in this area work in these three roles:
- Scrub nurse or tech: sterile team member, prepares the sterile field and handles supplies during the procedure
- Circulating nurse or tech: non-sterile team member. Responsible for establishing and maintaining the sterile field and providing additional supplies during procedure
- Monitor/documenter: Responsible for recording and documenting in the control room
