Nurse Practitioners

The pediatric nurse practitioner for cardiovascular services at Children’s of Alabama is a master's degree-prepared nurse with focused training and clinical expertise in the management of patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. The nurse practitioner uses advanced skill to provide expert care in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children as well as to provide support and education for their families within the hospital setting. The nurse practitioner works in collaboration with cardiovascular surgeons, pediatric intensivists, and cardiologists to form an elite team in the care of children with cardiovascular disease. The role of the nurse practitioner includes direct patient care, management of illness, education, consultation, research, and coordination of services necessary to provide top of the line care for the pediatric patient with cardiovascular disease.
