Children's of Alabama has had 54 residency program graduates since its ASHP-Accredited status was granted in 1997. Eight of these residency graduates have chosen to continue their training in PGY2 programs in specialty pediatric practice areas. Almost all our residency graduates are currently in pediatric pharmacy practice; however, a few past graduates are employed in adult institutions, academia, and even in industry. Three graduates are now residency program directors at their pediatric practice sites.

We are proud that many of our residency graduates choose to remain at Children's post-residency or return later in their careers to work with us again. 22 past residents are currently employed full-time at Children's, with another 5 working part-time. In addition, one past resident is on the faculty at Samford University and maintains a practice site at Children's. Many of these staff members are actively involved in training our new residents each year!
