Elizabeth Crum, MDElizabeth Crum, MD

Dr. Crum is a Summa cum Laude graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Crum is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.


Joseph Hamm, MDJoseph Hamm, MD

Dr. Hamm is a 1979 graduate of Auburn University. He completed Medical School at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and completed both his Internship and Residency at the The Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Dr Hamm joined Vestavia Pediatrics in July of 1986. He is certified in Pediatric Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Hamm is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Jefferson County Pediatric Society and the Jefferson County Medical Society.


William Hardwick Jr., MDWilliam Hardwick Jr., MD

Dr. Hardwick earned his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1983 and completed his pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is board certified in pediatrics as well as pediatric emergency medicine. Prior to joining Vestavia Pediatrics, he served as an attending physician in The Children’s Hospital Emergency Department for 10 years. During this time, Dr. Hardwick worked with the Alabama Department of Public Health and Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) to improve pediatric education in pre-hospital providers.


John Simpson, MDJohn Simpson, MD

Dr. John Simpson is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The University of Alabama and attended medical school at The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. His residency experience includes training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The University of Tennessee Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as The Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. He is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics.


Richard Stone, MDRichard Stone, MD

Dr. Stone did his undergraduate work at The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He attended medical school at East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. He completed his internship and residency at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama and joined Vestavia Pediatrics in private practice in July 1999. He is certified in pediatric medicine by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Stone is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Jefferson County Pediatric Society, and the Jefferson County Medical Society.
