Sickle Cell Disease
The UAB Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology team at Children’s of Alabama cares for almost 1000 children with sickle cell disease in Alabama. Our team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, neuropsychologists, school liaisons, social workers, child life specialists, and other health care professionals dedicated to the care of infants, children, and young adults living with sickle cell anemia. Education of patients and parents about sickle cell disease is vital to our program. We provide education below and encourage you to come to your clinic visits with any additional questions you or your family may have about sickle cell disease. Please take time to watch all of the educational videos we have created.
