Brachial Plexus Injury

brachial_plexus_injury.jpgOn rare occasion an injury associated with the birthing process can injure the brachial plexus which is a large group of nerves beneath the collar bone. If the nerve function fails to improve spontaneously, surgical treatment can be valuable in improving function. We have extensive experience in managing brachial plexus injuries both operatively and non-operatively in conjunction with colleagues from Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Brachial Plexus Services offered

  • External neurolysis
  • Internal neurolysis with nerve grafting
  • Non-operative management with extensive Occupational Therapy as directed by Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Nerve Transfers and Nerve Repair
