The Children’s of Alabama Pediatric Complex Care (Teal) Program strives to provide high-quality, compassionate, comprehensive, and longitudinal care for children with chronic and complex conditions in and out of the hospital.
The Children’s of Alabama Pediatric Complex Care (Teal)
Program is for children who:
- Have several complex, chronic conditions
- Follow with multiple specialists at Children’s of Alabama/UAB
- Use supportive medical technology (such as a feeding tube or oxygen)
- Need frequent in-hospital care
Our team strives to:
- Help families navigate the healthcare system through care coordination
- Partner with families in proactive care planning to ensure child’s needs are met
- Collaborate closely with the child’s pediatrician and specialty doctors
- Provide consistent, familiar care during hospitalizations
- Offer follow-up visits after hospital discharge to ease the transition home
