Special Interests

Dr. Rhodes serves as the pediatric cardiovascular fellowship director and is focused on fostering an environment of education amongst staff participating in the care of pediatric patients with critical heart disease. Clinical interests include participating in the care of children with congenital and acquired heart disease and improving their preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care. Additional, Dr. Rhodes participates in clinical and translational research in an effort to better understand pediatric heart disease and ultimately improve case of these critically ill patients. Specific research interests include collaborative research across the country to improve fellowship as well as developing additional tools for assessing postoperative cardiac output through non-invasive means.
