Children’s of Alabama is aware of the ongoing contract negotiations between UAB and United Healthcare. We want to reassure our patients and families that Children’s of Alabama is not a party to those negotiations and remains in network with United Healthcare. However, we understand that UAB employed physicians, who provide a significant portion of specialized care at our hospital, could be considered out of network beginning July 31 if a resolution is not reached.
We are committed to working closely with our partners to minimize any disruption to patient care and will continue to support our families during this time. We continue to make appointments for patients with United Healthcare and are not canceling any scheduled appointments. Our priority is ensuring uninterrupted care for the children and families we serve.
