Statement on the Passing of Mr. Benjamin Russell

"We are deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Russell’s passing, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family. We will remember him for his profound commitment to people in need across Alabama, especially children. We will remember his legacy for generations as he helped shape such pivotal moments over many decades of board leadership for our hospital, including the completion of The Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children, which opened in 2012 and was made possible through the incredible generosity of Ben and Luanne Russell. Today, it serves as a beacon of hope and healing for children and families across Alabama.
