Pediatrics West Celebrates 25 Years as a Children’s of Alabama Practice

Pediatrics West recently celebrated a milestone: 25 years as a Children’s of Alabama practice. To recognize the anniversary, physicians, staff, and members of Children’s of Alabama leadership gathered for celebratory lunches at both practice locations.

Practice founder Dr. Tom Smith, whose vision established Pediatrics West in 1977 was in attendance to commemorate this milestone. When the practice was founded, it was part of the Pediatrics Department at Lloyd Noland Hospital and later became part of HealthSouth Metro West. In 2001, when the hospital made the decision to no longer employ physicians, the practice joined Children’s of Alabama.

Over the past 25 years Pediatrics West has continued to grow and now operates out of two locations, Hueytown and McAdory. Expanding our practice has allowed our practice to serve families throughout the western areas of Jefferson County and beyond. With five physicians at each location, Pediatrics West is proud to provide comprehensive medical services for patients ranging from newborns through 19 years of age.

While Pediatrics West has been caring for children and families for decades, its partnership with Children’s of Alabama has helped strengthen its commitment to provide trusted, compassionate pediatric care.
