HOMEWOOD (June 19, 2026) – Mayfair Medical Group celebrated its 55th anniversary as a pediatric practice on June 19. Staff, physicians, and members of Children’s of Alabama leadership attended the celebration at Mayfair Medical Group to commemorate the anniversary. The practice was originally founded in Homewood in 1971 by Drs. Frank Waldo, Harry Register and Harry Bagby. Dr. Tommy Amason joined the practice soon after in 1972.
Mayfair’s eight board-certified pediatricians continue to provide excellent care for children from birth through young adulthood. For 55 years, the staff at Mayfair have been a valued resource to families in Homewood and the surrounding communities.
Mayfair Medical Group proudly maintains their recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home is a model of primary care that combines teamwork and information technology to improve patients’ experience of care and reduce costs. This recognition allows the practice to support their patients through access, communication and patient involvement.
