After calling Mayfair Medical Group home for 33 years, Dr. Judith Habeeb is retiring from her pediatric practice. As she looks back on her career, she says the greatest reward has been watching her patients grow.

“There are so many rewarding aspects of my job, but I would say the most has been watching children grow into productive adults with fulfilling lives,” she shared. From newborn visits to adulthood, Dr. Habeeb has built many close relationships with her patient families over the years.

When reflecting on her decision to go into pediatrics, Dr. Habeeb thinks of the children. “I wanted to be their advocate and be their voice. I know that I can strengthen their resiliency by being a supportive and caring adult in their lives,” Habeeb said. This commitment extends beyond the walls of her practice, as Dr. Habeeb plans to continue her work with the Alabama chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, advocating for the health and safety of our state’s children.

There are many things Dr. Habeeb says she will miss about her practice: “I will miss my colleagues professionally and personally. I have been fortunate to work with some of the most amazing folks. I will miss the children and the funny sayings and laughter.” While she looks forward to this next chapter of her life, she is confident in the future of Mayfair.

“I am leaving Mayfair in capable hands, and I know that my patients will be well cared for,” Habeeb stated.

Thank you for all your years of service, Dr. Habeeb!
