The Alabama Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s of Alabama's Corporate Communications and Marketing Department were recently recognized for its work in publicizing Walmart’s billion dollar donation to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Children’s, one of the 170-member CMN Hospitals across North America, received the CMN Hospitals/Walmart Billion Dollar Content Award for the large market division. The award was presented during annual Children’s Hospitals Week festivities at Walt Disney World March 19-22. Children’s will receive an extra $3,000 in its next CMN Hospitals disbursement as part of the award.

In 2018, Walmart stores in the Children's market raised over $1 million, of which $908,000 was raised during their fall fundraising campaign. Children’s was recognized as the No. 3 overall fundraising hospital for the 2018 CMN Hospitals campaign period. This is the fifth consecutive year that Children's has been recognized as a top fundraising market in the U.S. Walmart has donated $17.2 Million to Children’s over the last 30 years.
