Birmingham, Ala.  (Oct. 22, 2025) — Children’s of Alabama is once again receiving international recognition. The hospital is on Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026.  The award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026 ranking highlights the world’s leading hospitals across key specialties, including Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, OB-GYN, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, and Urology. The underlying data are based on three sources: peer recommendations from hospitals, accreditations, and PROMs implementation. Children’s is ranked in the pediatrics category.
 

Children’s of Alabama is the primary site for pediatric clinical and educational programs for the UAB School of Medicine. Since 1911, Children’s has provided specialized care for ill and injured children, offering inpatient and outpatient services throughout the Southeast.
