Inside Pediatrics Podcast

LEEDS (Aug. 27, 2020) – Racing for Children’s is shifting gears to host “Drive-In For A Cure” at Grand River Drive-In in Leeds on Saturday, Sept. 19 to benefit pediatric cancer patients at Children’s of Alabama.

The movies are “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Madagascar.” Reservations are $25 per car, available online at give.childrensal.org/drivein.

Gates open at 5 p.m, and the movies will begin at 7:15 p.m. Outside food and drinks are prohibited, but concessions, including $1 popcorn, are available to purchase onsite from The Snack Shack.

Theater staff have incorporated social distancing protocols to ensure the safety of moviegoers. Masks will be required when not in vehicles, and cars will be parked with empty spaces in between to ensure safe distance for all.

Proceeds from this movie series support the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s, which treats more than 90 percent of Alabama children diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders. Racing for Children’s, presented by Medical Properties Trust, is in its 10th year, racing to cure childhood cancer.
