Children's of Alabama Receives Donation from Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police

BIRMINGHAM – Children’s of Alabama recently received a $10,000 donation from the Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police. The donation will benefit the hospital’s programs and services, helping Children’s to provide the best care possible for ill and injured children in Alabama.

"Children’s Hospital of Alabama has given so much to our communities by providing first class medical care for our children, including children and grandchildren of our own members,” said Everette Johnson, Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police president. “The Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police wanted to give this monetary donation so that services could be continued to the children and families in Alabama. It was an honor to provide this donation. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Children’s of Alabama.”

The support Children’s receives from the community is critical to its operations and providing care that is essential to the well-being of all patients. Since the Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police is a statewide organization, they selected Children’s, a statewide charity, to be the beneficiary of their donation. This is the first time the organization has donated to Children’s.

Since 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children, offering inpatient and outpatient services throughout central Alabama. Ranked among the best pediatric medical centers in the nation by US News & World Report, Children’s provided care for youngsters from every county in Alabama, 45 other states and six foreign countries last year, representing more than 677,000 outpatient visits and more than 15,000 inpatient admissions.
