BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  Children’s of Alabama received a $15,000 donation from the United Merchants Association of Alabama (UMA) as a result of fundraising efforts across the state.

For every purchase of the Pepsi family of brands, the UMA donated a portion of the proceeds and collected donations at the register to support ill and injured children treated at Children’s, the state’s only freestanding pediatric hospital. In collaboration with Buffalo Rock, more than 200 convenience stores across Alabama participated in the fundraising efforts.

In 2017, UMA donated $10,000 to Children’s through their inaugural campaign. To date, UMA has donated $55,000 to Children’s to support programs and services.

“We are continually amazed by the support of the United Merchants Association and Buffalo Rock,” said Emily Hornak, director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Cause Marketing and Corporate Partnerships at Children’s of Alabama. “If it wasn’t for our generous partners, we wouldn’t be able to provide the highest level of care to our patients at Children’s.”
