Cardiac Catheterization Lab

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Children’s of Alabama is a highly specialized procedural area where interventional cardiologists diagnose and treat congenital and acquired heart disease using advanced, minimally invasive techniques. Equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology, the lab provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures while minimizing the need for an invasive surgical approach whenever appropriate. Children’s of Alabama features two dedicated cardiac cath labs, including a hybrid catheterization suite that allows for combined catheter-based and cardiovascular surgeries to be performed in a single setting when clinically indicated. This advanced capability enhances collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and provides seamless, comprehensive care for children with complex cardiovascular conditions.
