High-Risk Diabetes Clinic
This clinic was started in 2018 to help our patients with diabetes who are hospitalized the most often. Each year we analyze the data and invite new patients to help prevent future hospitalizations and improve their diabetes control.
Types of Disorders Seen
Type 1 diabetes mellitus with frequent admissions for diabetes ketoacidosis
Type 2 diabetes mellitus on insulin therapy with frequent inpatient admissions
What to Expect/Scheduling an Appointment
Our diabetes teams identify patients who may best benefit from this clinic. If you think your child may be a candidate and has had more than 3 hospitalizations in the last year for diabetes please call our office and ask their endocrinologist if it is appropriate.
