Clinical Services

Please be aware that psychologists (Ph.D's) see patients for therapy and counseling, but they do not prescribe medication. Before any child is prescribed medication, a psychiatrist (M.D.) must evaluate him or her. Psychiatrists can prescribe medication.

Psychiatry: Our psychiatrists provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions and behavioral or emotional difficulties.

Psychology: Our psychologists provide comprehensive outpatient psychological services for infants, children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties. The department is committed to providing clinical care that is consistent with best practices in psychology.

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

Please bear in mind that a thorough and complete evaluation can often take more than one visit to complete, and that psychotherapy generally requires that a patient be seen several times to make good progress.
