Birmingham, Ala. (March 5, 2024) – The Birmingham Squadron will wear specialty hero-themed uniforms featuring the names of Children’s of Alabama patients during the game on Sunday, March 10.

The red, navy and gold jersey is highlighted by the Squadron wordmark and Squadron star on the front of the jersey. The back of the jersey will feature the patient’s name in addition to the marks for Children’s of Alabama.

“We are thrilled to honor the patients of Children’s of Alabama, as well as their families, with the hero-themed uniforms,” said Squadron general manager Leslie Claybrook. “When the patients see their names on our players’ jerseys, our goal is they see the players giving their all, like they do, to fight and persevere as true heroes and understand they have the Squadron’s full support.”

The Birmingham Squadron will recognize Youth Sports Night on March 10. They will take on the Long Island Nets at Legacy Arena at the BJCC beginning at 3 p.m.

“We are so grateful to the Birmingham Squadron for celebrating our patients with this jersey night event,” said Children’s of Alabama chief communications officer Garland Stansell. “These boys and girls are heroes in our book and have already faced so many challenges in their young lives. This night will certainly recognize how special they are.”

Each player’s game-worn jersey will be gifted to their respective Children’s of Alabama patient following the game.
