How to Submit Your Abstract and Poster

We are excited you want to share your work with colleagues! And we are hoping you will share completed projects and underway projects (ie. project is fully designed but data has not yet been collected).

  • Abstract should include:
    • Title
    • Authors
    • Summary of work and findings that should be no more than 250 words. Consider including the following sections:
      • Background
      • local problem
      • methods
      • interventions
      • results
      • conclusions
  • We have placed a sample abstract for reference. We encourage getting help from colleagues and mentors with content, formatting, editing.
  • Submit the abstract via email to rkassel@peds.uab.edu by 10/1/20.
  • All abstracts will be accepted for poster presentations.
  • We will get you a Huddle account to upload your Zoom video presenting your poster once we receive your abstract.
  • You will create a poster using ppt (view a ppt sample for reference or from your mentor). Essentially, the poster will be 1 ppt slide.
  • There is a separate work aid re how to create the Zoom video recording.
  • Zoom video should be 3-5 minutes. I encourage making the recording last longer than you talking so that the poster can be studied by viewers and the judges.
  • Submit zoom video and file with only the poster by 10/14/20 by uploading via Huddle.
  • Poster videos will be available on a website during the day of the conference. Also, we ask that someone representing each poster be available on Zoom 11:30-12:00 to answer questions. Exact format of how this will be work to be determined.
  • Please remember to register for the conference too.
  • Email Rachel Kassel with concerns/questions. rkassel@peds.uab.edu
