Dr. Rhodes serves as the pediatric cardiovascular fellowship director and is focused on fostering an environment of education and continued amongst staff participating in the care of patients with critical heart disease. Additional, she is working on developing a stron fellowship curriculum based on experience and didactics in order to promote accomplished future pediatric cardiovascular intensive care physicians. Clinical interests include participating in the care of children with congenital and acquired heart disease and improving their peroperative, perioperative and postoperative care. Additional, Dr. Rhodes partici[ates in clinica; and translational research in an effort to better understand pediatric heart disease and ultimately improve case of these critically ill patients. Specific research interests include understanding the microbiome composition of pediatric patients with heart disease (in both healthy and criticall ill states) as well as developing additional tools for assessing postoperative cardiac output through non-vasive means.
