Cystic Fibrosis Clinic

Children’s of Alabama and the UAB Cystic Fibrosis Center are home to a specialized clinic for children and young adults with cystic fibrosis related diabetes (CFRD). Since its initiation, it has grown to also include other endocrine disorders associated with cystic fibrosis (CF), including abnormalities in growth, CF-related bone disease and dysfunction of sex hormone production. Our clinic director has over 10 years experience in the clinical care of individuals with CF. At present, we not only serve the children of Alabama with CF, but patients from around the country. Our clinical research interests also include early predictors of CFRD and ways to improve linear growth in CF.
