BIRMINGHAM — Children’s of Alabama’s Behavioral Health will host a seminar for parents, guardians and other primary caregivers who are interested in learning social media and how it affects children on Friday, Oct. 5.
The seminar costs $10 and includes parking, breakfast, lunch and a snack. The event will be held in Children’s Bradley Lecture Center (1601 6th Avenue South). Space is limited and pre-registration is required at https://www.childrensal.org/behavioral-health.
The seminar will run from 8 a.m. till 2:30 p.m., and will feature a special presentation from Melanie Posey of WBRC. Children’s experts will discuss cyberbullying, the impact of technology on kids and teens, protecting children from a legal perspective and how technology plays a role in behavioral health.
Children’s Behavioral Health offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and young adults with psychiatric problems. Comprehensive diagnostic assessment and treatment are available in two outpatient offices in the area: Children’s of Alabama and Lakeshore. Consultative services are available for hospitalized inpatients with medical/psychological problems and chronic diseases.
