This workshop will provide an understanding of child and adolescent grief needs, an overview of creative arts therapy, and a variety of hands on interventions to take away and apply directly in working with grieving children and teens. We will explore a school-based and children’s grief camp curriculum that has been empirically tested demonstrating positive outcomes on grief-related symptoms and behaviors. This creative arts therapy-based curriculum will be outlined in detail and participants will have opportunities to experience the creative arts therapy interventions first hand. We are sure to have fun while learning how to use the arts to heal grieving hearts.
