Children's Hosting Social Work Conference March 15
BIRMINGHAM — Children’s of Alabama will host its annual Social Work Conference on Tuesday, March 15. The conference will be held in Children’s Bradley Lecture Center (1600 6th Avenue South) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m.
Topics discussed will include ethics, pet therapy, eating disorders, suicide, drug trends and adolescent substance abuse. This event is open to the public and ideal for those in the fields of social work and education plus counselors, chaplains and other caregivers.
Registration includes breakfast, lunch, parking, workshops and continuing education credits. Attendees for the conference will be given free parking in Children’s 5th Avenue parking deck (1600 5th Avenue South). Online registration is available at give.childrensal.org/socialwork 2016. There will be seven continuing education credits for social work, including three in ethics. The event is approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
