Children's of Alabama Welcomes New PACU, One Day Surgery Director
BIRMINGHAM – Children’s of Alabama has promoted Tonia Crump to director of its One Day Surgery department and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
Crump joined Children’s in 1991 and most recently served as the PACU nurse clinician in the Surgical Services department, a post she had held since 2001. Crump resides in Hayden. Children’s One Day Surgery department, also referred to as same-day or outpatient surgery, involves surgical procedures that require two hours or less and a short recovery time in the PACU, or Recovery Room.
