BIRMINGHAM - Cobbs Allen, an insurance and risk-management firm in Birmingham, presented Children’s of Alabama with a $10,000 contribution this morning to help create the Care Closet. The new Care Closet will help meet the ever growing need for patient assistance with essential items for children and their families at the hospital.
As the 2015 Presenting Sponsor, Cobbs Allen’s support will help create and stock the Care Closet with much needed toiletries and clothing including socks, t-shirts, pajamas, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby wipes, underwear and other items. The Care Closet will be managed by the Social Services department and allow the team to quickly respond to specific needs of patients and families. On average, the team provides more than 400 families in crisis with approximately $60,000 of toiletries, clothing and other essential items each year and relies on community support to make this possible.
