BIRMINGHAM – Rollercoaster enthusiasts will get the chance to participate in a 5-hour Coasterthon to raise money for Children’s of Alabama on Friday, May 22 from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. The event challenges participants to continuously ride the Rampage rollercoaster at Alabama Splash Adventure during the 5-hour period.
The Coasterthon will begin with breakfast and check-in at 3 a.m., and participants will begin riding the Rampage rollercoaster at 4 a.m. Snack and bathroom breaks will be available every hour.
Leading up to the event, riders will have the opportunity to raise money for Children’s by creating a fundraising page to generate sponsorships. Family and friends can sponsor a rider by donating money to the rider’s page. Participants that raise at least $100 will not have to pay an entry fee for the Coasterthon. Prizes will be given to those who raise the most money.
