BIRMINGHAM – Calling all bundles of joy and toddling tykes to Birmingham’s Most Photogenic Baby Contest at the Gap Kids at The Summit, March 14-16 to benefit Children’s of Alabama. For a $35 entry fee per child, infants through 5-year-olds will get a professional photo shoot with a fashion photographer in four categories – precious (smiling), beautiful (serious), comical (funny face) and fashionable (full body poses). Photos of all contestants will be on display at http://www.photogenicbaby.com in March for judging and voting, and parents will keep the 8x10 photos of their little cover girl or guy after the contest.
To register for the contest, parents can bring their children to Gap Kids at The Summit anytime between 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. Judging and voting will take place during the month of March and winners will be awarded at http://www.photogenicbaby.com. Judges’ choice winners are determined by a panel of modeling professionals who anonymously judge the photos, and there is a winner in each category for each age group. The child who receives the most overall points from the judges will be named the Birmingham Judges’ Choice Winner and have an opportunity to participate in the national contest.
On behalf of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), all families are encouraged to collect donations online and with the sponsor sheet they are given at the photo shoot. Parents may use the money they collect via the sponsor form or online to vote for their child's photo. Voting is open to the public, and one vote costs 50 cents. All vote ticket proceeds benefit Children’s of Alabama. Winners are named for each category in each age group, and the child who receives the most overall votes will be named the Birmingham Voter’s Choice Winner with the opportunity to participate in the national contest. As an added incentive, families who collect $100 or more in donations will receive a CD with all photos taken of their child during the photo shoot – an average of 50+ photos.
