6th Annual Caitie’s Army Will Ride to Help Fight Childhood Cancer at Children’s of Alabama

RED LEVEL, ALA. (Sept. 12, 2013) – Motorcycle enthusiasts across the Wiregrass are invited to help fight childhood cancer by gathering for the 6th Annual Caitie’s Army Fall Ride on Saturday, Sept. 21. On-site registration runs from 9 – 11 a.m. and the first bike will roll out at 11:00 a.m. noon from the Red Level VFW Post #4388 (4861 Oglesby Road, Red Level, Ala. 36474)

Registration fee is $20 per motorcycle, $5 for extra riders and $5 for lunch.  Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase.

Caitie’s Army was organized by friends and family of Caitie Rhodes, a cancer patient at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham. The group organizes activities and events to raise funds to support The Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s. This year’s ride is held in honor of Rhodes’ 21st birthday.

Last year, children from the Wiregrass Region made more than 7,400 visits to Children’s seeking treatment for a wide variety of illnesses and injuries.
