Occupational Therapists at The Children's Hospital provide evaluation and treatment for children with developmental delays, particularly in the area of fine motor/hand skill development, feeding skills, self-care, cognitive and social-emotional skill development. Evaluation and treatment of developmental delay involves a team approach with physicians and other professionals such as physical therapists, speech pathologists, school and/or early intervention programs.

Occupational Therapists in our facility have expertise in evaluating and planning intervention strategies for children with overall developmental delays associated with:

  • Genetic Disorders

Occupational Therapists are trained to provide parent education and home activities for families to work toward goals for their child.  Occupational Therapists at The Children's Hospital provide recommendations for community activites, school-based intervention, and early intervention consultation as needed.
